Officers reported they were notified by a individual who found a car in Hanau marked with red-colored fluid

Approximately 50 automobiles have been covered with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's town of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, police confirm police.

Automobiles, walls and postboxes were defaced, occasionally with prohibited symbols, they reported in a official communication.

Police report they were alerted during the night on Wednesday evening, when a man discovered that a vehicle in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been covered with a red-colored substance.

The liquid had been placed in the form of a Nazi symbol, they stated.

Law enforcement then discovered numerous other vandalized cars and building exteriors in the surrounding area.

These symbols are banned in Germany under laws outlawing the visible presentation of Nazi-era symbols.

Police report early analysis indicate the substance was probably blood from a person.

"Currently there is no lead as to its origin; officials are not yet informed of any injuries in relation with the occurrence," they stated.

Local authorities announced they were trying "to unravel the case" and have appealed to the residents for information.

An important official commented the incident left him speechless and had to be solved promptly.

"This act strikes at the core of Hanau and reopens the wounds of the far-right violent incident five years ago," he posted on a platform, referring to the death of nine individuals by a shooter focusing on individuals of migrant background in five years prior.
